Hybrid icing will be fine once officials and players get used to it. 3 on 3 is just as much of a gimmick as a shootout. However, I think we will see it. Mandatory visors are already being grandfathered in. I like the idea of a 3-2-1 point system. Finally, I must be the only one that isn't bothered by the trapezoid.

The trapezoid rule is the dumbest rule ever implemented. It's the only rule in the book meant to penalize a skill. I'm shocked it is still on the books.

Very interesting ideas and I think they all will come true except the 3-2-1 point system.

It is true that it would separate the better teams from medium or worse teams. But this is exactly what the NHL wants to avoid.

It's hard to keep fans interested when their team is obviously out of the playoffs halfway through the season.(What's up MLB?)

Still hate the hybrid icing rule. One step closer to just eliminating hitting. Far more injuries happen on plays where there ISN'T icing, yet that's the one they focus on. It may sound crazy, but I think it's a slippery slope.

There is plenty to talk about regarding the Sabres. Lets start with why Grigorenko is either a healthy scratch or riding the bench. Sabres have nothing to lose. Play the kids Rolston.

lol @ #3. Visors are already mandatory, it's only "veteran" players who are grandfathered in that don't have to wear them. The only thing that will change is the number of players still in the league who are grandfathered in to not wearing them.

I don't have a problem with either one of those players. My problem is Grigo is not getting the experience minutes he needs. Doesn't matter who he is playing with. Give him some time.

Having him play reduces his trade value.

Have you actually watched him Play ? He can make Scott look like a speed demon . Kid needs to get in gear before he gets increased ice time.

Same could be said for the Veterans. It's not the rookies fault we are losing. Our "top 6" has scored what 9 goals in 10 games?

Don't think too many would dissagree here. If he was out shining his team mates on the turd and 4th line . I would move him up. He has no ,I want the puck now dammit attitude.

Put Vanek on the fourth line and you'll get the same results.

When your team is 1-8-1, everybody needs to get in gear before anybody is rewarded with anything. Playing Grigorenko with Scott and McCormick makes not only himself a liability, but the other two as well. When the skill sets are that far apart, it doesn't do anybody any good. Either play him in a role that you hope to see him excel in, or don't play him at all. Anything else is simply hurting your team.

Some people just don't have that knack and are just fine. Some people need people with similar skill value to even look competent. Grigorenko seems like one of those guys. I don't care if the guy literally lies down and takes a nap while the play is going on with Scott or McCormick. Playing him with non-skill players hurts both him and the team.
